Real Good for Free: Rockin’ on the River, Troy

With the weekly At the Plaza concert series at the Empire State Plaza all but disappearing from this summer’s free music schedule (details to follow soon), what’s a music junkie to do on a Wednesday night?

Head across the river to Troy, that’s what.

Held along the Hudson behind Ryan’s Wake, Rockin’ on the River – Troy’s answer to Albany’s Alive @ Five series – was launched last year, and despite the faltering economy, it’s back again this summer with a weekly bash throughout June and July.

Showtime is 5pm on Wednesdays, and here’s the line-up:

June 10: Kim Simmonds and Savoy Brown / Joe Lowry and the Second Mile Blues Band

June 17: Danielia Cotton / Byrds of Prey

June 24: Rustic Overtones / Nautilus

July 1: Aquanett / Blue Machine

July 8: hi8us / Lynch

July 15: Blues for Breakfast

July 22: Hair of the Dog / Kevin McKrell

July 29: Jamie McLean /3-Four-3

Thanks for posting these schedules… There is lots of great music to be had if you know where to look. I’m lovin’ Nippertown, Greg. The Capital Region needs resources like this to promote the arts and music scene.
