The book on Sol LeWitt

SolLewittThe opening of the gargantuan and absolutely mindboggling Sol LeWitt wall drawing retrospective exhibition at MASS MoCA last fall was one of the biggest art stories of the year.

And now MASS MoCA has finally completed the catalogue for the exhibition. Co-edited by curators Susan Cross and Denise Markonish, “Sol LeWitt: 100 Views” not only features photographs of nearly all of the 105 wall drawings on view at MASS MoCA, but also contributions from various writers, curators, musicians, architects and other artists about LeWitt’s artwork, ideas and influence.

Who, you ask?

Well, such folks as Carl Andre, David Lang, Matthew Ritchie, John Baldessari, Lawrence Weiner, Lucinda Childs, Steve Reich, Chuck Close, Alvin Lucier, Tara Donovan, Lucy Lippard and Spencer Finch, for example.

There are a total of 88 black and white, as well as 93 color illustrations in the 272-page softcover catalogue. The book is currently available for pre-order from Amazon, or you can pick up your copy now at MASS MoCA’s store Hardware or the new MASS MoCA by Design store in Williamstown, Mass.
