It’s Not About The Legs

I first became aware of Aimee Mullins in Matthew Barney’s Cremaster 3 and I was captivated by her regal sense of self as she strutted around in her dual role as woman and cheetah. Flash forward a few years, and she’s giving a talk at TED, in which she reframes her disability as a pretty cool advantage (like, who wouldn’t want to run faster than everyone else, or be able to wear six inch heels?)
