Comin’ soon…

Skidmore College is shaping up as Nippertown’s coolest school for concerts. Last year, they brought Girl Talk to the Saratoga Springs campus, and this year it’s another big buzz breakthrough band – Grizzly Bear. Yeah, I know, the fall semester hasn’t even started yet?!? But the Skidmore Sports and Recreation Center will be hosting Grizzly Bear with Gang Gang Dance on Friday, September 25. The concert is 16+ only, and tix are currently on sale for $20.

Metalocalypse rocks! No, we sadly didn’t get any new episodes of Adult Swim’s animated heavy metal show this summer. But it should be worth the wait – season three is coming in the fall (featuring expanded half-hour episodes), the sophomore Dethklok album is only a month away, and best of all – Dethklok arrives in person to rock the Washington Avenue Armory on Sunday, October 25. Joining them on stage will be Mastodon, Converge and High on Fire. Tix go on sale at 10am Friday, August 7.

Fab Boston-based singer-songwriter Sarah Borges and her band the Broken Singles makes a tour stop at Club Helsinki in Great Barrington, Mass. on Saturday, August 22.

According to the website of blues harp superstar James Cotton, he’s teaming up with Johnny Winter for a double-barreled blast of the blues at The Egg on Friday, April 16.

A true metalhead would know the band’s name from Metalocalypse is Dethklok.
