Pee-Wee Herman is back.
Comedian Paul Reubens is bringing his iconic character Pee-Wee Herman back to the stage. “The Pee-Wee Herman Show” will have a limited engagement at the Music Box at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles beginning on Sunday, November 8.
Tickets went on sale today for the 17-performance run is a newly “re-imagined production” of Reubens’ original live show which debuted at The Groundlings Theatre in 1981.
Reubens parlayed his original stage show into an HBO special, national tours, two movies (1985’s “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” and 1988’s “Big Top Pee-Wee”) and, of course, the groundbreaking Saturday morning television series, “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse,” which aired on CBS-TV from 1986 through 1990.
In addition to the stage version of “The Pee-Wee Herman Show,” Reubens is also reportedly working on a pair of upcoming films – “The Pee-Wee Herman Story” and “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse: The Movie.”
“Is that a big piece of cake or what!”
