Capital Region’s Got Talent

Well, of course, Nippertown has spawned some incredibly talented singers over the years.

Now it’s your turn…

Time Warner Cable and Revolution Hall in Troy are co-sponsoring a six-week musical talent competition to find Nippertown’s top talent. The winner of the Capital Region’s Got Talent competition will walk away with $5,000, a demo recording, and an opportunity to headline at Revolution Hall.

“We expect CRGT to help us find some outstanding talent, worthy of a professional engagement at Revolution Hall, and we are definitely starting to see a lot of interest in the competition,” said Jared Kingsley, Revolution Hall general manager. “All of our contestants will be winners and have the ability to perform on the very same stage that has hosted top American Idols: Bo Bice, Chris Daughtry and Elliott Yamin.”

CRGT is a music competition open to individuals between the ages of 18-30. (Bands are not eligible to compete.) Singers and songwriters can perform with or without instrumental accompaniment. There is a $50 registration fee to enter the competition.

Here’s the timetable for Capital Region’s Got Talent:

Deadline for applications: Monday, September 7
Auditions: Thursdays, September 10, 17, 24
Finalists Announced: Friday, September 25
Contest: Thursdays, October 1, 8
Finals: Friday, October 16

All auditions, competition rounds and finals will be held at Revolution Hall in front of a panel of judges and an audience. Audience admission for all CRGT events is free.
