All Tomorrow’s Parties on your computer
It’s like sooooo alternative.
Yes, All Tomorrow’s Parties invades Monticello this weekend with a mind-boggling array of uber-cool indie bands. Some are definitely old-school. Some are mondo-happening right now. And some are so cool that you probably haven’t even heard of them yet.
Folks like Crystal Castles, Shellac, Animal Collective, the Dirty Three, Black Dice, Deerhoof (and, of course, Deerhunter), No Age, Boss Hog, Sleepy Sun, Circulatory System, Panda Bear, the Jesus Lizard … oh the list goes on.
Curated by the Flaming Lips, the three-day alt-fest starts today, but if you can’t get away to the Catskills for the weekend, there is another alternative.
You can listen to it on your computer.
The super-fine folks at WFMU will be streaming tuneage from the fest from 6pm-12midnight on Saturday and from 5pm-12midnight on Sunday. They are also planning to run bonus sets and additional live stuff from the fest on Monday from 12noon-5pm.
OK, it’s probably not quite the same as getting your brain smashed in by the Boredoms, but it ain’t bad. And, of course, it’s free, too.
