Real Good for Free: Karrin Allyson @ Williams College, 9/22/09
Sublime jazz vocalist and three-time Grammy nominee Karrin Allyson will perform a free concert at Williams College’s Chapin Hall in Williamstown, Mass. at 8pm on Tuesday, September 22. She will also engage in a pre-concert chat at 7:15pm in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall.
Notable jazz critic, author and historian Gary Giddins affirms, “Allyson coolly stakes her claim. She brings a timbre that is part ice and part grain…incisive, original and emotionally convincing.”
She has recorded a dozen CDs on the Concord label, including 2008’s “Imagina: Songs of Brasil” and her latest best-of compilation, “By Request.”
