When Mister James launched the Bing Bamboo Room Burlesque and Variety Revue back in 2004, there was no telling just what you might see at one of their monthly performances – fire-eaters, slapstick comedy, magicians, jugglers, performance poetry, trapeze artists, jug bands, conceptual comedy…

And the beautiful thing about it is that five years later, you still don’t have any idea what you’ll see.

There has been one great constant, of course – girls.

The Bing Bamboo Room Burlesque and Variety Revue celebrates its fifth anniversary tonight (Monday, September 28) @ Savannah’s in Albany. Showtimes are 8 & 10pm. Admission is $5.

Of course, Guy Smiley will once again be your genial host, and among the performers you’re likely to see Dehva Colure, Maxine De La Obscene, Scooter Pie, Bella Vendetta, Jeffery Jene, Madame Trixie and the Lady Amanda. And making her Bing Bamboo debut tonight will be Samra, direct from the Velvet Hammer in Los Angeles.
