ArtBeat: Capital Region Textile Artists @ the Chapel + Cultural Center

The nights are getting chilly, and it’s time to get out the quilts. You probably won’t want to throw these quilts on the bed, however.

The Chapel + Cultural Center in Troy is hosting the new group exhibition “Textile Explorations,” featuring contemporary art quilts by members of the Capital Region Textile Artists.

Among the artists whose work is on view in the exhibit are Gordana Vukovic, Lila Hollister Smith, Barbara Quackenbush, Jo A. Weatherwax, Anita Paul, Kathy Riedel, Virginia Huerfeld, Susan A. Rivers, Kathryn Greenwold, Nancy Schlegel, Sally McLaughlin Bauer, Joan Byalin, Tina Waltson Raggio and Mary Reich.

The opening reception for “Textile Explorations” takes place from 6:30-8pm Thursday, October 8. The exhibition will remain on view through Sunday, November 29.

The Capital Region Textile Artists meet from 10am-12noon on the third Saturday of each month at the Bethlehem Town Hall. New members are always welcome. For more information, contact Nancy Schlegel at [email protected].
