Real Good for Free: Local Harvest Festival @ Washington Park Lakehouse, 10/25/09

Looking for some big family fun on a Sunday afternoon that doesn’t involve sitting around and watching football on TV?

Head down to the Washington Park Lakehouse on Sunday, October 25 for the Local Harvest Festival. Meet and greet local farmers, growers, bakers, chefs, restauranteurs and other foodies. Sample some food. Buy a bunch of food to take home with you. There’s a pumpkin carving contest, bike raffle and lots of children’s activities.

And lots of great music, too. Sponsored by the fine folks at Capital District Local First, Honest Weight Food Co-op and Metroland, the fest runs from 2-6pm Sunday with performances by such Nippertown faves as Ashley Pond, Sgt. Dunbar & the Hobo Banned, Railbird and Arm Fee.

And it’s all free.
