Be Here Now: moe. @ Washington Avenue Armory, 10/31/09
Really, there’s only two things you need to know – moe. and Halloween.
When jam-band heroes moe. take over the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany for their homecoming Halloween show on Saturday (October 31), there are certain to be some surprises – big surprises – in their setlist.
That’s because the bandmembers didn’t decide what songs they’ll be playing on Saturday – the fans did.
Fans who had attended 100 or more moe. shows were asked to nominate songs that they wanted to hear the band perform on Halloween – moe. favorites, obscure rarities, off-the-wall cover tunes and even songs that they’ve never played before.
More than 100 songs were nominated and posted on a poll at the website Jambands.com. Fans had two weeks to cast their vote for what song they would like to hear from the list. The results will be revealed and experienced in all their glory on stage on Halloween night.
While “Democracy Rules” is the musical theme of the night, it’s not necessarily the costume theme. All concert-goers are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the holiday and dress up in whatever outlandish, outrageous costume they can dream up.
You can bet that this is going to be a wild, wild night.
