Real Good for Free: The Lustre Kings @ HVCC, 11/12/09

lustreKingsGretsch-toting Mark Gamsjager leads the rollicking, roots-rockin’ Lustre Kings into the Maureen Stapleton Theater at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy on Thursday (November 12).

But if you want to catch this merry band of honky tonkers, you’re gonna have to get there early. How early? 12noon.

That’s right, it’s a community college, so all the cool events happen during the day. And, trust us, they just don’t come any cooler than the Lustre Kings. The has four albums to their credit, but they’ve also earned their rockabilly badge of honor by playing with such bona fide rockabilly legends as Wanda Jackson, Robert Gordon, Bill Kirchen and Eddie Angel.

So wake up early, knock back a couple of cups of joe and head over to HVCC for a righteous rockabilly dance party by the Lustre Kings.

And, yes, it’s free.
