Thanks for the shout on the show tonight at EMPAC, which starts at 7:30 PM (not 8 PM) – it has changed slightly, though…
It is a good news / bad news situation here at EMPAC today in terms of tonight’s New Nothing show – the bad news is that Dan Deacon and Nuclear Power Pants have to cancel due to an injury (we hope to reschedule for the spring / future, and we wish Dan Deacon a speedy recovery). The good news, however, is that the replacement is a live set by Prefuse 73 (http://www.prefuse73.com/blog/ – http://www.myspace.com/prefusion73) with video by Troy’s own lmnopf (http://lmnopf.com/), who will shake Studio 2 in a very different way (dance party!). Prefuse 73 (on the venerable Warp Records label) will be throwing down a percussive set that will run from hazy psychedelia to bass-heavy chopped up hip-hop to sounds from the other side of who knows where – be prepared to be surprised and on your feet. You might recall the name lmnopf from the Madlib + Juiceboxxx performance during the EMPAC opening – they were doing up the pixels all over the raised cylindrical screen, and they are now slated to knock it out of the park again. And with Skeleton$ and Luciano Chessa still ready to rock, all systems are set for GO. See you tonight at 7:30 PM.
