I got involved with music when I was very young, but I never had a stereo as a kid. All the music in my life was live, really. People ask what I listened to when I was growing up, and I have to say, ‘People sitting around playing guitars.’ Quite literally, that’s the way it was.”

Singer-songwriter and self-declared “little folksinger” Ani DiFranco steps into the spotlight at The Egg in Albany on Tuesday (November 17).
