Song of the Week: Gene Clark’s “Silver Raven”

Yes, Gene Clark was a founding member of the Byrds. But he made a whole lot of fabulous music after he flew the Byrds’ coop, too.

Clark died in 1991 at the age of 46. Had he lived, today would have been his 65th birthday, so we’re celebrating the life and music of Gene Clark today:

“The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark” (made after Gene left the Byrds for the second time and Doug left the Dillards) may be the best country-rock album ever made. Lyric: “With the length of her mind, she darked the sun.”
