MUSIC: Sea of Trees @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs: Local rock favorites make a mid-week stop at the famed Spa City coffehouse as part of the weekly Emerging Artists Breakout concert series. 7pm. $5.
PERFORMANCE ART: “Animalia: Stories of Collapse, Calamity and Departure” by C. Ryder Cooley @ MCLA Church Street Center, North Adams, Mass.: A haunting 50-minute multi-media inter-species fairytale featuring film, live music, circus skills and more. 7:30pm. $12. Followed by a reception at Gallery 51 in North Adams at 9pm.

MUSIC: Mike Doughty @ Revolution Hall, Troy: The former Soul Coughing frontman makes his second Troy appearance of the year – he wowed ’em at the River Street Festival back in June – but his first since the release of his new album, “Sad Man Happy Man,” which concludes with a cover of Daniel Johnston’s “Casper the Friendly Ghost.” This time around it’s an acoustic Question Jar show. Porter Block opens the show. Doors open at 6:30pm. $20.
