ARTIST TALK: Dona Ann McAdams @ the Sage College of Albany’s Opalka Gallery, Albany: In conjunction with “Some Women,” her current exhibition of photographs at the Opalka through Friday, December 11, McAdams offers a talk titled, “Art and Activism.” 12:30pm. Free.

TALK: World AIDS Day presentation by Cleve Jones @ Hudson Valley Community College’s Bulmer Telecommications Center, Troy: Cleve Jones – human rights activist and founder of the AIDS Memorial Quilt – delivers an inspirational talk. The evening opens with a slide show by photographer Dona Ann McAdams accompanied by Brian Melick on udu drum. 6:30pm. Free.

MUSIC: E.P. Hall, Julianna Spallholz & Matthew Loiacono, Bailiwick @ Spring Street Gallery, Saratoga Springs: An evening of adventurous sounds from Bloomington, Indiana (E.P. Hall), the Skidmore College campus (Bailiwick) and who-knows-where (Spallholz & Loiacono). 7:30pm.

MUSIC: Guitar Wars @ Savannah’s, Albany: The second of three preliminary round competitions in search of Nippertown’s mightiest guitarslinger. Come on down and compete or just cheer on your fave. 8pm. Free.
