Be Here Now: Ramblin Jug Stompers @ Caffe Lena, 12/18/09
Three years ago, Ramblin Jug Stompers rambled into Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs to celebrate the release of their live debut CD, “Crooked Songs: Live at Caffe Lena.”
Since then, it’s become a tradition for the Jug Stompers to make an annual stop at the legendary coffeehouse each holiday season. The funky foursome arrives on Friday (December 18) with their brand new studio album, “Hobo Nickel,” under their belts.
And while you can expect to hear plenty of the Jug Stompers’ usual off-kilter acoustic panorama of tunes, they’ll be sneaking in a few seasonal selections as well, including at least one gem from their favorite holiday television special: Jim Henson’s classic “Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas”:
No question about it, Ramblin Jug Stompers will put the “merry” back in your Merry Christmas.

And the song “Blue Christmas” – it certainly will be hard to listen to that song from now on and not think of the Caffe Lena show and Wild Bill’s cool performance!! Nice job 😉
