MUSIC: Ramblin Jug Stompers @ Tess’ Lark Tavern, Albany. It’s a festive, jug stompin celebration, mixing up backporch bluegrass, gutbucket blues, moonshine twang and junkyard jazz with a little bit of the holiday classic, “Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas.” 7pm. Free.

BOOK: Dan Lynch @ The Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza, Guilderland. Radio talk show host, former Times Union columnist/editor and author Dan Lynch reads from and signs copies of his 11th novel, “The Thunder of Captains.” 7pm. Free.
