Howe Glassman’s Top 10 Albums of 2009

BlackJoeLewisHOWE GLASSMAN (singer-guitarist of Grainbelt, owner of Valentine’s Music Hall, manager of The Linda)

This is the best I could come up with. Not in numerical order except #1….

08 Mason Jennings – “Blood Of Man” (“The Field” = 2nd favorite song of 2009)
07 Roger Bryan and the Orphans – “Wolves” (my Buffalo homies deliver again)
06 Black Lips – “200 Million Thousand” (not as awesome as “Good Bad Not Evil,” but still better than most)
05 Justin Townes Earle – “Midnight At The Movies” (better than anything the old man has put out in a while)
04 Visqueen – “Message To Garcia” (gets better and better every listen. Rachel Flotard should run for some kind of office.)
03 Chuck Prophet – “Let Freedom Ring” (best of his career?)
02 Reigning Sound – “Love and Curses” (Greg Cartwright=genius everyman. “Call Me” = favorite song of 2009)
01 Black Joe Louis and the Honey Bears – “Tell ’em What Your Name Is” (goddamn I love this slammin’ 5 Hour Energy r&b)
