Andy Gregory’s Top 10 Albums of 2009

Death Cab for Cutie: The Open Door
Death Cab for Cutie: The Open Door
ANDY GREGORY (CRUMBS blogger, “and I play guitar, too”))

It was hard to whittle down to 10. So…the first six are in no particular order, but the next five are. [Editor’s note: Can I get a math check in aisle five?] These are the albums that stayed in the personal listening device and/or cd changer the longest.

And, I paid for them.

Green Day – “21st Century Breakdown”
Buddy & Julie Miller – “Written In Chalk”
Wilco – “Wilco (The Album)”
Lily Allen – “It’s Not Me, It’s You”
The New York Dolls – “‘Cause I Sez So”
The Dead Weather – “Horehound”
05 Black Eyed Peas – “The E.N.D.”
04 Dierks Bentley – “Feel That Fire”
03 Neko Case – “Middle Cyclone”
02 U2 – “No Line on the Horizon”
01 Death Cab for Cutie – “The Open Door” (ep)

I really checked your best of 2009 to see what I missed. I only bought two new albums this year and they are not even albums (or CDs) but DVDs! They weren’t even recorded this year! By the time I get around to 2009 they will have all this stuff out as implants (try getting that song out of your head).

What did I finally get around to buying? Brian Wilson Band-Smile (Which made me cry) and Remember that Night-Dave Gilmour (which also made me cry-gud bye Richard Wright-again), I almost forgot, I did get a Janis Joplin CD, but I haven’t listened to it-I ran out of kleenex.
