Helsinki on the Hudson to Open on March 1?

After the sad news earlier last week that Jason’s Upstairs Bar in Hudson would be closing its doors at the end of January, it looks as though music lovers in Hudson (and indeed all throughout Nippertown) may yet have a reason to rejoice.

Community radio station WGXC offers the following report on Helsinki on the Hudson, the new music spot run by Deborah McDowell, who previously was at the helm of the late and much lamented Club Helsinki:

Helsinki on the Hudson to open March 1

Helsinki on the Hudson, the new location of the club that shuttered in Great Barrington last August will open this spring. At the WGXC New Year’s Masquerade Ball on Thursday (December 31), while he was on stage announcing a matching $500 donation to WGXC, Helsinki’s Cameron Melville announced the club would open in Hudson on March 1.

On Helsinki on the Hudson’s Facebook page, McDowell confirms a March opening, but has not yet revealed a specific date.
