Willie Nile, What Was the First Album You Ever Bought?
“The first record that I bought was a 45 – ‘Peggy Sue’ by Buddy Holly.
As far as an album? Well, I’m sure it was ‘Meet the Beatles.’ I bought that one, and life changed for me. I had older brothers, so I heard Elvis, of course, and all that great stuff like Little Richard, Chuck Berry, the Everly Brothers and Fats Domino. That’s pretty great stuff, and it still holds up.
But it was the Beatles and the whole British Invasion stuff that really changed my life.”
Rock singer-songwriter Willie Nile returns to The Linda in Albany on Saturday (January 23).
