The Lake George Arts Project invites emerging and professional artists to submit exhibition proposals for the Courthouse Gallery 2011 exhibition schedule. Click here for submission guidelines. The postmark deadline is January 31, 2010.
The PhotoCenter of the Capital District is seeking entries for its “Best of 2009” exhibition. Juried by the PhotoCenter staff, the exhibition is open to all photographers and PhotoCenter members. All subject matter and photographic methods are welcome. Cash awards for People’s Choice and Juror’s Selection. You can download the entry form here. The Green County Council on the Arts and The Green County Camera Club have announced Lumina, a juried photography exhibit exploring light as a subject, concept or process, slated for February 20 – April 10, 2010. Submission deadline is February 1, 2010. Click here for entry guidelines. (PDF)
Albany Center Gallery invites all local artists within a 100-mile radius of Albany to submit their work for the 2011 exhibition year. The mission of Albany Center Gallery, located at 39 Columbia Street in Albany, is to exhibit and promote contemporary visual art produced by emerging and established artists living primarily within a 100-mile radius of Albany. The Varga Gallery in Woodstock is has announced its annual exhibit, “Women,” scheduled for February, 2010. Open to all artists, the gallery is seeking works on the subject of women, works by women, works by men ABOUT women or any extrapolations thereof. Drop off work during the first weekend of February, 2010. Click here for the registration form.
Also at The VARGA Gallery, “Woodstock Peace Project” is an event and art exhibition to celebrate the ideal of world peace and Woodstock’s role as a pioneer in the peace movement. Open to all artists, the exhibit will take place in August, 2010. Click here for the registration form. Artists will receive a peace symbol to be embellished, decorated, painted, decoupaged or designed in any way they choose. A choice of three sizes of peace signs is available, and may be picked up beginning in April 2010 and prepared for the exhibition by August 2010.
