As is traditional, Old Songs in Voorheesville presents its Sampler Concert in January as a fundraiser for the annual Old Songs Festival of Traditional Music and Dance to be held at the Altamont Fairgrounds on Friday-Sunday, June 25-27.

The Old Songs Sampler Concert takes place at 8pm on Saturday (January 30), showcasing a variety of folk-based acoustic music from all around the Capital Region. Performing in this year’s concert will be Adirondack folksinger and storyteller Christopher Shaw, Americana band Three Quarter North, blues singer Thomasina Winslow, old-timey songs from Mark ‘n’ Ron (with a special appearance by the “Spoon Man”), the eclectic folk duo Linda Schrade & Dave Kiphuth and the Old Songs Aussie Bush Band, playing folk songs from Down Under.

Priced at $20; $5 for children ages 12 and under, tickets may be purchased online, by calling Old Songs at 518.765.2815 or at the door.

The evening also features a yummy bake sale and a raffle of dozens of quality craft items donated by Old Songs Festival artisans and recordings of past performers.
