Brian Melick’s Percolating Percussion Concert Series
For the sixth year, percussionist-about-town Brian Melick is serving up his annual spring concert series at the Chapel + Cultural Center in Troy.
The four-part weekly series takes place at 7:30pm each Wednesday throughout the month of April, with Melick teaming up with a different group of musicians for each concert. Doors open at 7pm, and admission is free.
Here’s the line-up of performances:
Wednesday, April 7: Latin Jazz Quartet Night featuring pianist-vocalist Dave Gleason, drummer Danny Whelchel, saxophonist Eric Walentowicz and percussionist Brian Melick.
Wednesday, April 14: Modern Dance and Music Night featuring dancer-choreographers Laura Teeter, Jen Yackel and Claire Jacob-Zysman, pianist-vocalist Zoe B. Zak and percussionist Brian Melick.
Wednesday, April 21: Joy Adler & the Souls of Evolution featuring vocalist Joy Adler, pianist Elizabeth Woodbury-Kasius, guitarist Mick Mudick and drummer-percussionist Brian Melick.
Wednesday, April, 28: Global Gumbo Night featuring John Hughes on kora, balaphon and percussion; Charlie Tokarz on saxophone and flute; and Brian Melick on percussion.
