Vincent Serbin: Raw Objects Appear Life Size” @ GalerieBMG, Woodstock. Photograms, created by arranging everyday objects, photographic negatives and xrays on photo paper and then exposing it to light, exploring scale and positive/negative conversions. (Through May 17)
“The Things They Left Behind” @ Ferrin Gallery, Pittsfield. Sculptures by Michael Boroniec and Gerit Grimm. The title of the show refers to the ongoing NEA program, The Big Read, currently underway in Pittsfield in which the community explores the book “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien, through programming in the schools, libraries and cultural venues throughout the city. An exhibit combining drawings from the past ten years with recent sculpture by the Havana-based duo, Marco Antonio Castillo Valdes and Dagoberto Rodriguez Sanchez, who collaborate under the name Los Carpinteros (The Carpenters). Beeswax & Lampblack: Materials of the Artist & Other Objects of Fascination @ Cooperstown Art Association, Cooperstown.
