Finalists Announced for SPAC Battle of the Bands

SPAC Battle of the BandsThe 10 finalists have been announced for SPAC’s first ever Battle of the Bands, and – drum roll, please – the top online vote-getter was – Miracle of Madness, an indie alt-rock combo from Sauquoit. Online voters in the competition resulted in the casting of 6,400 votes in three days (Friday-Sunday, April 16-18).

While Miracle of Madness was voted into the finals by public online voting, the remaining nine finalists were chosen by a SPAC selection committee.

And here they are (in alphabetical order) – the finalists in the SPAC Battle of the Bands:

Center of Detention, punk/rock, Glens Falls
Filming Ohio, rock/acoustic/jam, Schenectady
The Folkadelics, funk/reggae/rock, Brooklyn
The Mighty Nautilus, funk/soul/hip hop, Albany
Miracle of Madness, alternative/indie rock, Sauquoit
Mirk and the New Familiars, pop/soul/hip hop, Albany
Orchard, modern rock/alternative, Ballston Lake
Saving Atlantis, rock/indie/pop, Albany
Vesper, cello-driven rock/punk, New York City

The ten finalists will each perform live for 15 minutes at the SPAC Battle of the Bands finals at the Spa Little Theater at 6pm on Friday, May 21. Priced at $15, all tickets are general admission and are currently on sale.
