VARIETY REVUE: The Bing Bamboo Room Burlesque @ Savannah’s, Albany. Emcee Mr. Guy Smiley presides over an evening of fun, frivolity and flirtation with Ashley, Marie RaMoan, Lilian Gash, Samara, Bayshenz, Primalmatic Pryroaddicts, Xzavier and Lilly Allure. 8 & 10pm. $8.

MUSIC: Greg Ginn & the Taylor Texas Corrugators @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. The All Music Guide hails Black Flag guitarslinger Ginn as “unquestionably, the most influential guitarist to emerge from the late-’70s/early-’80s U.S. hardcore/punk movement.” With the instrumental Taylor Texas Corrugators (guitarist Gary Piazza and drummer Sean Hutchinson), Ginn weaves all kinds of musicial influences into the blend – from punk to jazz, from country to blues, from Latin to psychedelia. With opening acts Robo-France 29 and Cinema Cinema. 8pm.

READING: Poets Speak Loud @ Tess’ Lark Tavern, Albany. The monthly poetry reading/open mic session celebrates National Poetry Month. Featured reader is Jason Crane, poet and host of The Jazz Session. Crane is also celebrating the publication of his first collection, “Unexpected Sunlight” (FootHills Publishing). Read one of his poems here. Sign-up at 7pm; reading at 8pm.
