A New Headbangin’ Concert at SPAC

The Uproar Festival is headed into the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sunday, August 29, and after enduring a summer of Justin Bieber, Chubby Checker and the orchestral Sting, we’re really gonna need to do some serious headbanging.

Sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink, the Uproar tour is slated to hit 36 cities between August 17 and October 4, and the Live Nation folks snagged one for SPAC.

The fest is being co-headlined by Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold. Sharing the big amphitheater stage will be HaleStorm and Stone Sour. The tour is planning to have a second stage, as well, featuring Hellyeah, along with Airbourne, Hail the Villain and New Medicine. In addition, it looks like the second stage will also have a slot for a Jagermeister Battle of the Bands winner.

Currently the on-sale date for general public tickets is Saturday, June 12.

Remind me why anyone should care about the Gulag Saratoga, hasn’t been anything, aside from jazz festivals, worth going to since the Festival New Orleans days. The Subdudes with John Mooney “sitting in” was sublime.
