Originally slated to take place at Northern Lights in Clifton Park tonight, the concert by Korn – in what would have been the band’s second NL concert in a week – has been cancelled. Refunds can be obtained at the place of purchase.
It’s flashback night at Albany’s Palace Theatre! That’s right, we’re headed back to the glorious days of hair-metal with the all-star triple-bill of Skid Row, Firehouse and LA Guns. Oh me, oh my! It’s being billed as “One Rockin Night” and that night is Thursday, November 18. Bed Spins will open the show at 6:45pm. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the Food Pantries for the Capital District. Priced at $39.50 and $47.50, tix go on sale to the general public at 10am Saturday. Also new of the Palace calendar is stand-up comic, talk show talk and pop culture pundit Chelsea Handler, who steps into the spotlight on Friday, June 18. Brad Wollack opens the show at 8pm. Priced at $55 and $75, tix go on sale to the general public at 10am Friday.
Guitar hero Adrian Belew takes over the stage at The Linda in Albany on Saturday, June 19. “An Evening with Adrian Belew: Painting With Guitar” is a one-man show that will likely blow your head off. Tix are on sale now for $22.
Ed Kowalcyzk of Live is headed into Northern Lights in Clifton Park for a show on Wednesday, July 7. Priced at $20, tix will go on sale on Saturday. Tix will be $22 on the day of the performance. Also new on the Northern Lights calendar are Interpol with Twin Tigers on Friday, July 23 ($30; on sale at 10am Saturday); Every Avenue with Sing It Loud, the Secret Handshake and There for Tomorrow on Sunday, July 25 ($12; on sale on Friday).
The Bearsville Theater in Woodstock has added a batch of new shows to its summer concert calendar. Adrian Belew blows into town on Sunday, June 20 with Joey Eppard opening the show ($25). In what promises to be one of the coolest “family shows” of the year, Ida, the Mommyheads, Johnny Society and Babe the Blue Ox join forces to dish up a fun-for-the-whole-family matinee at 12noon on Saturday, June 26 ($8; kids $6; under 2 free). And the Lee Boys – one of the finest sacred steel gospel music ensembles in the land – will make a joyous noise on Thursday, July 8. ($15).
Jazz fans will want to head on over to the Athens Cultural Center in Athens on Saturday, May 22 for a Planet Arts Jazz one2one concert by the Locke/Oatts Duo, featuring vibraphonist Joe Locke and saxman Dick Oatts. Tix are $10.
Detroit-based ’90s rockers Sponge will be soaking up the applause at Jillian’s in Albany on Saturday, July 24. Advance tix are currently on sale for $13. Tix will be $15 at the door.

Guster and Ry Cuming have been added to the bill with Maroon 5 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Friday, July 30.
Despite some early ads touting Melissa Auf der Maur as the opening act, it now looks like the Parlor Mob will be opening the show for Alice in Chains at the Glens Falls Civic Center on Wednesday, May 19.
Skillet and Theft have been added to the bill with Creed at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, August 25.
