After Rush Hour: An Evening of Video Works by Charles Dennis @ Saratoga Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. A mini-retrospective of video works, from the mid-80s to the present, by the noted video and documentary director Charles Dennis, co-founder of Performance Space 122 in New York City and creator of the ongoing video series, “Alive & Kicking – New Directions in Dance & Performance”. The screening will also include new work created by the students at the Caroline Street School in collaboration with Dennis, who will introduce the program and participate in a follow-up Q&A. ReObjectification: Art + Object @ Ferrin Gallery, Pittsfield. Large group show with works by thirty artists in a wide variety of media featuring art + objects with links to their source inspiration. Mary Kocol and Rebecca Doughty @ Davis Orton Gallery, Hudson. Mary Kocol’s landscape and garden photographs are part of a series made with a plastic Diana camera, a toy camera she has used for over twenty years to exploit the light transducing properties and signature soft focus of its plastic lens. Rebecca Doughty’s comic-like paintings are simple and spare yet show a mastery of expression. (Through May 30)

Jeff Bourgeau: The Geometry of Time (color-filled, computer generated abstractions) and Jim Goss: the pleasure of being    absent @ BCBART, Hudson. Both artists are showing new work.
