Ch-Ch-Changes: Tess’ Lark Tavern Benefits

Lark Tavern Front Neon Sign5/20 UPDATE: The schedule of bands performing at the Lakehouse has been announced.

“Rocking to Rebuild,” the big benefit bash for Tess’ Lark Tavern, is still being held at the Washington Park Lakehouse in Albany on Saturday, May 22, but it’s been scaled back a bit.

Here are some of the changes for the Lakehouse:

* Originally slated to run from 1-11pm, it will now take place from 3-8pm.
* The original admission charge of $10 has been bumped up to $25, although beer is now included with admission.
* The silent auction – originally scheduled from 1-5pm – will now take place from 4-7pm.
* The art auction will now be held later that same night at the Marketplace Gallery.

That’s right – the benefit will continue downtown at the Marketplace Gallery in Albany – call it the after-benefit benefit – from 6-11pm.

The Marketplace Gallery will feature a silent art auction with live music (TBA), poetry (hosted by Mary Panza) and refreshments. Admission to the gallery bash is free with paid admission to the Lakehouse benefit; otherwise, it’s $5.

The poetry session will take place from 8-9pm, and readers will include Don Levy, Carolee Sherwood, Nicole Karas, Cheryl Rice and the Lark Tavern’s own Alex Albino.

The silent art auction will be held from 7-9:30pm.

The Marketplace Gallery is currently accepting drop-off donations for the silent art auction from 2-7pm Monday-Friday through Friday, May 21. Accommodations will be made for anyone who can’t make those hours. Please be sure that artwork is ready to hang and include a tag with the following info: Name of artist, title of artwork, medium, the “Buy It Now” price of the artwork.

I’m still a bit confused. I’m donating some prints for the silent auction at the Marketplace, but this post seems to indicate there is another one going on from 4-7pm at the Lakehouse?

Sebastien – As we understand it, there are, in fact, TWO silent auctions taking place on Saturday. The silent auction at the Marketplace Gallery will be an auction of art work. While the silent auction at the Lakehouse is primarily an auction of goods and services donated by local businesses. Hope that clears it up for you.
