Caffe Lena Photo of the Day

Caffe Lena’s big 50th anniversary is just days away now, and as part of the big celebration Arlo Guthrie will be performing at Skidmore College’s new Zankel Music Center on Saturday night.

Nippertown.com has been proud to join in the anniversary celebration by offering a photo a day all month long from the archives of Lena’s house photographer Joe Deuel.

Today’s entry is one of our faves – a 1973 shot of an almost impossibly young Arlo Guthrie standing out on the street, bookended by Rich Lewis (left) and Horald Griffiths (right):

Arlo Guthrie will share the stage with Robin & Linda Williams and Their Fine Band for the Caffe’s 50th anniversary celebration at 7pm on Saturday at the Zankel Music Center at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs – just one dollar for each year that the Caffe has enriched the musical life of the Capital Region.
