Greg Haymes founded Nippertown, along with his wife Sara Ayers, in 2009. Greg was a musician, journalist, and ambassador to the Capital Region arts community. Greg passed in April of 2019, but his legacy continues.

I hear rumored that Leo Sayer had a late 60’s/early 70’s proto-metal band, that he now totally denies, simply called SAYER. I hear tell of three albums: ‘Sayer”, “Sooth Sayer” and never released recordings called: “Sayer It Ain’t So Joe”. All of them forbearers to speed metal.. I once heard some tracks from what I was told was the “Sooth Sayer” album, very fast heavy and psychedelic, but have not seen the albums or can confirm it was actually him. Nippertown: can you shed any light on this? True? Is this part of the unwritten history of rock & roll?
