MUSIC: Sachal Vasandani @ SPAC’s Spa Little Theater, Saratoga Springs. The hot, young jazz singer and his backing trio wrap up SPAC’s Extended Season/Emerging Artists concert series with selections from his acclaimed sophomore album, “We Move.” 8pm. $25. FILM: “Breath Made Visible” @ Time & Space Limited, Hudson. Ruedi Gerber’s stunning, award-winning feature-length documentary about the revolutionary dancer and choreographer Anna Halprin. 7:30pm. $7; students $5. (Also 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday; 5:30pm on Sunday)
FESTIVAL/MUSIC/THEATER: The LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival @ various locations, Lake George. “All Shook Up.” “Love Me Tender.” “Little Sister.” “I Got Stung.” Elvis tribute artists from all across the globe take over Lake George for this competition and four-day fest of All-Things-Elvis. It kicks off tonight with a free concert in Shepard Park. 7:30pm. Free. (Thru Sunday)
MUSIC: Skip Parsons’ Riverboat Jazz Band @ Jay Street, Schenectady. It’s the kick-off concert for the Electric City’s annual free mid-day jazz concert series – Jazz on Jay. Clarinetist Parsons gets the ball rolling with some traditional New Orleans jazz. Rainsite: Robb Alley in Proctors Arcade. 12noon. Free.
MUSIC: The Audiostars @ Riverfront Park, Albany. Today also marks the first concert in the City of Albany’s annual free after-work concert series in the Corning Preserve. The Alive at Five concert series kicks off the 2010 summer with a double-header of popular local bands – the Audiostars and Cryin’ Out Loud. Rainsite: The Corning Preserve Boat Launch under Route I-787. 5pm. Free.
MUSIC: The Ike Reilly Assassination @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. Highly recommended. It’s a mystery to us why Reilly isn’t a big-time rock star. Really. He’s that good. Read our review of his new album, “Hard Luck Stories.” With John Alfred of the Killerados. 8pm. $10.
