6/9/10: Today’s Tips: Wednesday

MUSIC: Rusted Root @ the Colonial Theatre, Pittsfield. The Pittsburgh-based band won over fans with their unique hybrid of roots music and world beat, breaking through to platinum sales with their 1994 album, “When I Woke,” featuring their biggest hit, “Send Me On My Way.” With Michael Glabicki and Liz Berlin still at the helm, the band has recently released “Stereo Rodeo,” their first studio album in seven years. 7:30pm. $30, $45.

MUSIC: “Capital Underground Live” @ Savannah’s, Albany. An eclectic evening of music from Odus Budd, John Scarpulla (who has just released his new album, “Before the Streetlights Come On”) and In Defense of Autumn. 8pm. Free.

MUSIC: Spose @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. It’s a Hump Day hip-hop happening with Rick Whispers, Timmy Wiggins, Oddy Gato, Blacastan, DeeJay Tone. 8pm. $12.

MUSIC: The Swing Docs @ Dale Miller, Albany. Swing the evening away on the patio with the 19-piece big band led by saxman Richard Uhl. 6pm. $5.
