MUSIC: Tift Merritt @ The Linda, Albany. Tift Merritt is back – this time with a band. Not just any band, either, but a band that features guitarslinger Eric Heywood. Merritt is touring in support of her new album, “See You on the Moon.” Not just any album, either, but an album that features of cover of Emmitt Rhodes’ “Live Till You Die.” Jason Collett of Broken Social Scene opens the show. 8pm. $16.

FILM: “Exit Through the Gift Shop” @ Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. Banksy or Not Banksy? That is the question. Will it be answered in this street art documentary? And is this really a documentary after all? We were sure that we’d have to wait to see this one on DVD. Thanks you, Spectrum. Opening today. 12:45pm, 3:45pm, 6:35pm, 9:30pm.

MUSIC: “Live From Lock One” @ the Sanctuary for Independent Media, Troy. Recorded with a live audience – and streaming live, too – the focus is on the blues as vocalists Thomasina Winslow and MotherJudge are backed by JV & the Cutters. 7pm. $10; student/low income $5.

MUSIC: Playing for Change @ Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. A thoroughly international and undeniably uplifting evening of music. Read our review of the show at The Egg last October. 9pm. $15.

MUSIC: Justin Friello @ Proctors, Schenectady. The vocalist-guitarist from the band Filming Ohio steps out on his own to celebrate the release of his new solo CD, “Ghosts in Command.” 7:30pm. $12.

MUSIC: Sirsy @ Revolution Hall, Troy. Sirsy celebrates their new record deal. Music fans mourn the loss of Rev Hall. Britanny Robichaud & Suite 24 open the show. 8pm. $10.

MUSIC: The Pine Leaf Boys @ the Gypsy Joynt, Great Barrington. A truly rockin’ Cajun crew from southwest Louisiana, these guys popped up on HBO’s “Treme” just a couple of weeks ago. Rolling Stone called ’em “the next best thing to a Saturday night dance in Lafayette.” 8pm. $20.
