Other Voices, Other Rooms

Photographer Jason Lehr – who contributed the way cool shot of Phantogram’s Sarah Bartel that we ran earlier this week – has a neat new photo blog PhotoWehrks that features a bunch of shots of Sgt. Dunbar & the Hobo Banned, the Mathematicians, Beware! The Other Head of Science and Paper Ships that he caught in action at Valentine’s Music Hall on Saturday, June 5.

Over at GailSez, Gail M. Burns reviews Barrington Stage Company’s production of “The Whipping Man” and declares “if you like thought-provoking drama beautifully acted ‘The Whipping Man’ is the best thing on the boards so far this summer.” The play closes on Thursday.

Looking for stuff to do this weekend with children in tow? CapitalDistrictFun probably has a good idea for y’all.

AlbanyJazz features J Hunter’s review of jazz vocalist Sachal Vasandani at SPAC’s Spa Little Theater on Thursday, June 3. Also included are photos by Andrzej Pilarczyk – different ones than we posted here at Nippertown.

Joseph Dalton discusses the merits of the Albany Symphony Orchestra’s recent American Music Festival at EMPAC at RPI in Troy over at HudsonSounds.

And, of course, we’re thrilled that J. Eric Smith included Nippertown.com on his own personal Best Of list in the Best Local Blogger category.
