Festival Fever: Saratoga Brewfest @ Ellms Family Farm, 6/19

This sure does sound like our kind of afternoon – bands and beers.

And you’ll have plenty of beers to choose from, too, as the Saratoga Brewfest, as more than 30 breweries will be represented, pouring more than 100 different beers. Among the breweries will be Magic Hat, Adirondack Pub & Brewery, Dogfish Head, Lake Placid Brewery, Ithaca Beer Co., Davidson Brothers, Brewery Ommegang, Red Hook and Olde Saratoga Brewing Company.

Live music will be performed by the alt-country quartet Rodeo Barons (led by Railbird’s Chris Carey), the Dead Spartans (self-decribed “just five old guys livin’ out the rock and roll dream”) and the Rhythm High (a six-piece roots-rock band based out of Cortland/Ithaca, who played their debut gig just last week).

The Saratoga Brewfest will take place at the Ellms Family Farm in Ballston Spa from 2-6pm on Saturday. Tickets are $30 in advance; $35 at the gate.

In addition there will also be a VIP tasting session and barbecue lunch from 12:30-1:30pm. Tix for the VIP session (as well as the Brewfest) are $75 in advance; $90 at the gate.

Proceeds from the Brewfest will benefit Saratoga PLAN, a local land trust organization dedicated to preserving land and nature through purchases and donations of land and conservation easements.
