Real Good for Free: California Transit Authority @ Clifton Common, 7/4/10

The band Chicago blows into the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Saturday night for a double-bill with the Doobie Brothers.

And you can catch one of the original Chicago bandmembers – drummer Danny Seraphine – in concert the next night at Clifton Common in Clifton Park – for free.

A founding member of Chicago, Seraphine played with the band through 1990, recording and helping to produce 18 gold and 13 platinum albums, 50 Top 40 hits, 20 Top 10 singles and five number ones.

In concert on Sunday, Seraphine will be leading his latest band, California Transit Authority, and they’ll be playing plenty of old Chicago hits, as well as tunes from the new band’s own repertoire, including selections from their new album, “Full Circle.”
