Festival Fever: Saratoga’s All-American Celebration, 7/3-4/10
Saratoga Springs is hosting its own Fourth of July festivities this weekend with the free, two-day Saratoga All-American Celebration taking place at various locations throughout the city’s downtown area.
Saturday’s activities begin with a visit from Ben Franklin at the Saratoga Children’s Museum at 10am. There will also be a variety of historic programs and tours throughout the day. And the festivities will also include – this is our favorite – a Patriotic Pooch Parade down Broadway at 4pm.
Sunday’s schedule kicks off bright and early at 8am with the fourth annual Firecracker 4, a four-mile run. Along the course, there will be a wide assortment of live music, including the Freedom Hawk Band, guitarist Don Petersimes, indie rockers Filming Ohio, bagpiper Nicholas Kirkpatrick, classic rockers Park Street, the acoustic blues of Three Foot Dog and more.
Other Sunday activities include a classic car show, a barbecue and dessert fest, historic tours and a special Family Day Festival in Congress Park featuring live music by New Shoes (1pm) and Bluesology (4:30pm), all capped off by a fireworks display after dark.
