The Philadelphia Orchestra opens its summer season at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center at 8pm on Wednesday with a special program featuring renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma in a performance of Edward Elgar’s “Cello Concerto.”
Conducted by Charles Dutoit in his final season at the podium, the Philadelphia Orchestra also offers Richard Strauss’ “Don Juan” and Igor Stravinsky’s still thrilling “Rite of Spring” to round out the evening’s program.
