Real Good for Free: Geppifest in Broadalbin, 8/21/10

Geppi Iaia’s Facebook page pretty much says it all.

“Geppifest, since it came to life in October of 2003, has been about one thing: letting local bands gain exposure. The show has always been free and 100% non-profit. I don’t do it for any reason more than to let local band members have their day because all of them deserve it. If you’re a fan of local music, even if it isn’t whatever genre the particular day is focused on, you should come out. It is always a good time, the venue is large with plenty to do, and it’s free! Support local music!”

Hmmmm… sounds like our kind of throwdown.

We’re sorry that we missed last week’s first installment of Geppifest, which focused on more hard-rock and metal bands. Fortunately, part two of the fest is taking place this Saturday (August 21) at 240 Stever’s Mill Road in Broadalbin.

Here’s the schedule of performances:

3pm: Padrick Smith
3:45pm: Leather Jewels
4:30pm: Nania Business
5:15pm: The Emerald City Lights
6pm: Saving Atlantis
6:45pm: Pillowhead
7:30pm: Alta Mira
8:15pm: Railbird
9:15pm: Aficionado

The fest will also feature intermission music by the Emergency Empire.

And, yes, admission is free.
