Festival Fever: All Tomorrow’s Parties @ Kutsher’s Country Club, 9/3-5/10

All Tomorrow's Parties New York
Labor Day weekend is coming up, and that not only signals the end of summer, but also a half dozen festivals vying for your attendance. Perhaps the biggest bash is All Tomorrow’s Parties which takes over Kutsher’s Country Club in Monticello from Friday-Sunday with an A-list of alt-rock royalty, including Iggy & the Stooges, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, the Breeders and lots, lots more.

Sunday’s musical line-up was curated by film maker Jim Jarmusch.

And, of course, there’s much more going on at the fest than just music. Films being screened at the fest stretch from Charlie Chaplin’s “Modern Times” to the Monkees in “Head.” Other films include “Crumb,” “Naked Lunch” and Lars von Trier’s “Antichrist.” Jarmusch and Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore also will discuss the films.

There will also be comedians, art exhibitions, a card games room hosted by Steve Albini, contests and even a book club.

And although there’s no live music slated for Monday, September 6, the bars, food vendors and DJs on site will continue through 6pm Monday for those who have booked rooms at Kutsher’s.

Kutsher’s? That place is still in operation? Maybe I’ll get myself a catered bungalow. Borscht anyone?

  2. Josh says

    Too much money.
