News Flash: Bread & Jam Cafe Closes

breadAndJamWhoa, this has been a bad year for venues on Nippertown’s live music scene. Revolution Hall bit the dust. Tess’ Lark Tavern went up in smoke. And now Bread & Jam Cafe in Cohoes is calling it quits.

Bread & Jam Cafe owner Salvatore Prizio has announced:

“It is with the most profound sadness in my heart that we must announce to all of you that after two years of great food, drink, and music that Bread and Jam will be closing its doors permanently this Friday September 3rd. The past two years have been nothing short of a dream for me. Being a longtime musician, I always wanted to own my own music venue, and I was able to do that. I can never express in words what the friendships and experiences have meant to me here, and the fact that all of you got a chance to share that dream with me.”

Prizio goes on to say:

“We worked as hard as we could for as long as we could to bring Cohoes the finest music and food that we possibly could. We know our customers and friends deserved no less. But in the end we finally ran into a financial wall that I just wasn’t able to hurdle, and it was time to say goodbye.”

Nippertown would like to thank Prizio and his staff for all they have done for the Nippertown music scene – great jazz shows, cool art/music events like heARTS Aligned, the Tern Rounders’ monthly Moonlight Jamboree and so much more. Thanks, Sal, and best of luck in the future.

This is very sad indeed. Thanks to Sal for being such a wonderful, welcoming, and supportive owner. Your passion for music and supporting Cohoes was amazing. Bread & Jam will be missed by all Capital Region musicians. The Tern Rounders were lucky to be able to call your cafe a home base. We wish you and your family well in whatever comes next.
