The Gibson Brothers Are Two-Time Winners!
These days great bluegrass music doesn’t just come from some back porch in Appalachia, ya know.
And there’s no better proof of that than Nippertown’s own pickin’ & singin’ siblings, the Gibson Brothers.
Brothers Leigh and Eric Gibson and the rest of their band released their ninth album, “Ring the Bell,” last year on the Nashville-based Compass Records label. As they rang in the new year, “Ring the Bell” was the No. 1 album on Bluegrass Unlimited’s Top 30 Countdown.
And last week, they raked in more accolades when the album’s title track was named Song of the Year at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s annual awards show in Nashville. The song earned the boys a second trophy when it was also named Best Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year. That’s two big trophies in one night for the Adirondacks’ favorite bluegrass boys.
