The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari

The main branch of the Albany Public Library is once again playing host to its annual Silent Film Spectacular series, matching up homegrown Nippertown musicians with classic silent films. The musicians write new original soundtracks to an acclaimed vintage film and then perform the music live which the film is being screened in the library’s auditorium.

Here’s this year’s schedule:

Wednesday, October 20: Terry McClain, Chris Neuhaus and Nathan Glass take on Fritz Lang’s 1927 sci-fi masterpiece, “Metropolis”

Wednesday, October 27: Eric Halder, Scott Smith and Sarah Clark tackle Paul Leni’s 1927 mystery, “The Cat and the Canary”

Wednesday, November 10: Space Lounge provides the sonic support for the 1920 horror-thriller, “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari”

Showtime for each screening/performance is 7pm, and admission is free.
