FilmColumbia Fest: Today’s Pick Flick
Sylvain Chomet’s “The Triplets of Belleville” is a masterwork of animation. Now Chomet returns with “The Illusionist,” adapted from an unproduced script by Jacques Tati. Set in 1959 as rock ‘n’ roll is blossoming, the story focuses on an old school, over-the-hill magician struggling to maintain his footing in the nightclubs and music halls of Paris.
As part of the FilmColumbia Fest in Chatham, “The Illusionist” will be screened at the Crandell Theatre at 12noon today. The FilmColumbia Fest continues daily through Sunday.
